The U16 Melbourne Wolves Storm defeated Beaumaris Sharks Zebras 29:28 in a semi final showdown at the Tulip st basketball stadium.
David Girgess finished with 12 points and Kain Entwisle chipped in with 9, but it wasn’t until Robert Stanford made the clutch free throw with 1.7 seconds remaining and then delivering the critical steal to seal the game.
The Storm was down by as much as 12 points in the game but put on a late rally with 5 steals in the final 7 minutes. Kain made a clutch three-point-play with 51 seconds to go. The team handed the Zebras their first and only loss of the season.
The Storm now marches on to play Parkdale Pacers Blue on Saturday. Go Wolves, Go Storm!
